Overview
Tirana has one of the densest taxi networks in the Balkans. With roughly 500 licensed taxis across multiple companies, you'll rarely wait more than 10–15 minutes for a car in the city center. After 22:00, taxis become the primary form of public transport since most buses stop running.
Unlike Western Europe, Albanian taxis don't always use meters — especially for airport runs or intercity trips. Always agree on the price before you get in.
